Traquair Castle was originally owned by the kings of Scotland. It later became the home of the Earls of Traquair and is still lived in by the descendants of the Maxwell Stuart family. It is now well known as the oldest inhabited and most romantic house in Scotland. Part of the house is open to the public during the summer months.

Honeymoon Couples are particularly welcome for overnight stays, and receive a complimentary bottle of Traquair's own French sparkling wine.
