TRAQUAIR FAIR TICKETS AVAILABLE ON THE DAY

Traquair Fair is back after a year’s break and promises to be bigger and better than ever with some new elements such as a visual arts area and a Children’s Book Tent as well as an exciting theme of “Beyond Borders” which will highlight small nation cultures throughout the world.
The Fair is a unique family event within Scotland offering the very best in outdoor theatre, world and traditional music, children’s entertainment from puppet shows to readings and storytelling, art and crafts workshops as well as a vibrant crafts market and the chance to try out some complementary therapies.
Some of the Highlights this year include an exquisite  aerial act that descends from the trees in front of Traquair. An extraordinary performance that includes a 13ft high lady in an elaborately brocaded dress who opens her skirts to reveal a whole feast of theatrical surprises!
On the music stage in the walled garden the Beyond Borders theme is picked up with music from Palestine, Liberia and Scottish based bands fusing sounds and cultures for a real burst of dance energy and haunting melodies.
For children, there are puppets shows from Clydebuilt Theatre Company and the ever popular Mr Boom as well as storytelling and in the new Children’s Book Tent a chance to browse and buy books as well as to listen and take part in readings and workshops.
A feast of delicious foods await from around the world and the delicious Fair Ale is already being brewed in the Traquair Brewery for the event.
These are just a few of the acts who will be appearing at the Fair this year, please view the programme and timings page for more detail.
