Secrets of the Stewart Court: A 1470s Experience
Step onto the lawns of Traquair House and witness the court in motion as noblemen, servants, and artisans prepare for the arrival of King James III.
Observe the daily life of a royal household—from kitchen preparations to the careful dressing of courtiers.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the court with music, conversation clothes, and the customs that shaped the Stewart monarchy
You are invited to listen in, watch, and experience the Stewart Court as it readies itself for a royal visit.
The programme of events will start with a talk on Costume and Manners at 11.30am. the arrival of the English ambassador at 12.00pm and formal dining at 1.30pm. In the afternoon there will be music and an opportunity to see the camp and chat to re-enactors.
