Dining in the House
Our 18th Century Dining Room is perfect for groups of 8-34 people. Larger groups up to 50 can be accommodated with the use of the adjoining Lower Drawing Room.
Arrive earlier for a pre-dinner drink in the High Drawing Room, and maybe enjoy a guided tour too.
All private dining events are subject to £300 hire fee for exclusive use of the 18th-century Dining Room.
Howford House guests
If you are joining us for dinner from Howford House, check out this special package for guests of the house only.
A Scottish Evening
Looking for that little something extra? Or maybe your guests are visiting from abroad? Give them a proper Scottish Experience! Be welcomed by a bagpiper, enjoy a welcome glass of bubbly with the Catherine Maxwell Stuart (21st Laird of Traquair), tour the House, and indulge in a 5-course dinner in the Dining Room with traditional haggis-addressing. You can then retire to the High Drawing Room for traditional music and dancing, or relax with a glass of whisky or a Traquair Ale.
Outdoor Celebrations
If you are looking for an outdoor garden celebration, our top-only marquee is available to hire along with all furniture and crockery. We can organise a buffet or BBQ style meal for you to enjoy in the beautiful surroundings of the Walled Garden. The perfect way to spend a summers evening!
