Our Wedding Packages
At Traquair we pride ourselves on being able to provide a very personal service and every wedding here is a unique occasion.
Our packages are set by guest count, and you can see all that is included in the documents below:
Your Wedding Ceremony
With our own Catholic chapel and a licence for civil ceremonies, you can be married in the house or in some of the magical areas of the grounds.
In each wedding package, we outline which areas are suitable for different sized weddings.
Wedding Legalities

Dining in Traquair House
‘Small Celebration’ and ‘Earl & Countess’ packages include use of the 18th century Dining Room in Traquair House for your wedding dinner. The maximum numbers for a sit down meal in Traquair’s Dining Room is 34 guests; however we can seat up to 50 by using the adjoining Lower Drawing Room.
The ‘Sweetheart’ and ‘Vow Renewal’ packages have use of the Still Room; a bright and friendly room which is perfect for small wedding meals.
House Receptions
After dinner, make use of the High Drawing Room or Old Walled Garden Café for drinks and dancing.
The High Drawing Room is suitable for drinks receptions of up to 50 guests, and smaller parties can have music and dancing here. It is not suitable for large bands or larger parties to dance, for which the Café space is better suited. The Café is transformed into a dance floor and separate seating area, and we can provide a bar here too. On a nice evening, we can provide a fire pit for the patio.
Bars are provided at each location until 11pm.
Marquee Weddings
Marquees are required for weddings over 50 people, and can be situated within the Walled Garden or on the Wine Glass Lawn. We work with preferred suppliers for marquees and these can be designed to meet your preferences. With marquee weddings, we offer a Hog Roast, BBQ, or the option of a sit-down meal within your marquee.
The ‘Walled Garden Party package’, provides an entirely outdoor wedding for 15-60 guests with pagoda marquee. This is a casual alternative to the House weddings, with a BBQ or buffet-style meal for your guests.
‘Jacobite Celebration’ and ‘Walled Garden Party’ weddings are available May-September for the best chance at nice weather.
Honeymoon Suites
There are three luxurious rooms available in the house which are all available on a bed and breakfast basis. See more about the rooms at here
In all packages, a room is included for the wedding couple, and for weddings of 25+ we include all three rooms on the wedding night. Breakfast is provided each morning of your stay.
Howford House
Howford House on the Traquair Estate is recommended to wedding couples, as it sleeps up to 18 guests and is only 1.2 miles away from Traquair House. Preferential rates are available for wedding parties.
Local Accommodation
Traquair is situated approximately 2 miles from Innerleithen where there are a number of small hotels and B&B’s for your guests. Within 6 miles there are two larger hotels with five star facilities.
