Traquair will be celebrating Halloween this year with some spine tingling tours of Traquair at night and some and ghostly fun for all little monsters!
Experience the atmosphere of this ancient house at night with a historical ghost tour which take place over two weekends and bring history to life as never before.
Characters from Traquair’s past will guide you through the house and uncover the secrets from of their lives, of the trials and persecutions they faced as Jacobites and the Catholics and the terror of being discovered.
Tours finish in the eighteenth century Dining Room where you can soak up the atmosphere with a glass of mulled wine. You can also combine your tour with a Halloween Supper at the 1745 Cottage Restaurant if you dare.
On Sunday 27th October it is time for all little monsters, ghouls and ghosties to come and play at the Halloween Fun Day at Traquair.
There are lots of activities for all ages including ghost stories in the house, magic shows, tarot readings, Halloween Games, Spooky Face Painting, a Witches and Wizards workshop to make your own wand or hat. If you are brave enough you can walk through the Spook Passage Experience – not for the faint hearted.
This year there is Chocolate Ghost Hunt which sends out ghost hunters to the Maze and Woodlands to find some ghouls for Chocolate prizes!
Come dressed to kill and enter our Best Dressed Halloween Character competition.
